Liam Heffernan

Liam began his professional career with Graffiti in 1984, appearing in A MODERN OTHELLO, THE MERCHANTS CLUB, STRONG AS HORSES and played Ioka’s Father in DRINK THE MERCURY. He moved to Dublin in 1986 and with TEAM appeared in RUBBISH, HEARTSTONE, DEAR KENNY and THE NATIVE GROUND.

Other theatre credits include AS YOU LIKE IT, THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, MACBETH (Second Age), THE MAN FROM CLARE, THE CHASTITUTE (Groundwork), TINE CNÁMH, DÚN NAMBAN TRÍ THINE, MILSEOG AN TSAMHRAIDH, FEAR AN TAE, BUILE AN PHÍCE (Amharclann de hÍde), THE WINTER THIEF, CAOINEADH AIRT UI LAOGHAIRE (Abbey Theatre), WOMEN IN ARMS, THE GRAPES OF WRATH (Storytellers), MR. JOYCE IS LEAVING PARIS (Dublin Theatre Company), WHEN I WAS GOD (Red Kettle), LOSING STEAM, THE TEMPEST (Corcadorca), MAN OF LA MANCHA, FATHER MATHEW (Cork Opera House) and STONE MAD (Everyman). He performed a one man show THE GOOD THIEF in the C.A.T Club for the Everyman Palace, directed by Pat Talbot. Liam directed BRILLIANT TRACES for Dublin Fringe and the award winning TILLSONBURG by Malachy McKenna, both for Focus Theatre and Everyman Palace.

His radio credits include THE SWEET SMELL OF CIGARETTE SMOKE, THE QUIET WILLOUGHBYS, BATTLE OF KINSALE, FICTION 15, THE BOOK ON ONE – STONE MAD and FRANK O’CONNOR: A LIFE, THE HAUNTED LIGHTHOUSE and SEANY BOY. Liam’s latest stage appearance was Josie in Decadent Theatre Company’s production of THE CAVALCADERS by Billy Roche.
