Jonathan Delaney Tynan

Jonathan is currently filming the role of Dylan Reid in TV mini-series AN IRISH CRIME STORY directed by Züli Aladag for ARD / GmbH Germany.

Recent work includes the role of Louise Cannon in John Morton’s brand-new 6 x 1 hour dark comedy DEAD STILL directed by Imogen Murphy for Deadpan Pictures, GRETEL & HANSEL directed by Oz Perkins for Orion Pictures and TIPPING POINT directed by Dan Gifford for H2 Films.

Jonathan can be seen as Lord Cuthred in Season 5 of VIKINGS created by Michael Hirst for Take5/World 2000, currently televised worldwide on History.

Film and television credits include the role of Mr. Dudman in PENNY DREADFUL directed by Damon Thomas for Showtime,  Garda Greene in RTÉ sit-com CAN’T COPE, WON’T COPE created by Stefanie Preissner for Deadpan Pictures, William Pearse in documentary drama 1916: SEACHTAR NA CÁSCA for TG4, THIS IS NIGHTLIVE (RTÉ2), acclaimed period drama THE TUDORS directed by Dearbhla Walsh, RIPPER STREET directed by Tom Shankland (BBC) and Disney fantasy movie ELLA ENCHANTED starring Anne Hathaway and directed by Tommy O’Haver for Miramax Films.

Theatre credits include William in Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL directed by Deborah Warner at the Barbican Centre, SHEMIRAH directed Trilby James at JW3 Arts Centre, JANE EYRE (City Theatre), 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD directed by Terry Byrne for Lane Productions,  SPECKLED PEOPLE (Dublin Theatre Festival 2011) and A WOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE both directed by Patrick Mason at the Gate Theatre, Dublin.

Further stage credits include JULIUS CAESAR and ROMEO & JULIET directed by Jason Byrne at the Abbey Theatre and the role of Colonel Fitzwilliam in the 2014 Gate Theatre production of PRIDE & PREJUDICE directed by Alan Stanford, receiving critical acclaim the show was revived the following year  at The Gate and subsequently invited to perform at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as part of the 43rd Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2015.
