Jonathan Delaney Tynan

Jonathan was most recently cast in GRETEL & HANSEL directed by Oz Perkins for Orion Pictures.

He can be seen as Lord Cuthred in Season 5 of VIKINGS created by Michael Hirst for Take5/World 2000, currently televised worldwide on History.

Further film and television credits include William Pearse in TG4 documentary drama 1916: SEACHTAR NA CÁSCA, THIS IS NIGHTLIVE (RTÉ2), acclaimed period drama THE TUDORS directed by Dearbhla Walsh for Showtime, RIPPER STREET directed by Tom Shankland (BBC), Disney fantasy movie ELLA ENCHANTED starring Anne Hathaway and directed by Tommy O’Haver for Miramax Films, the role of Mr. Dudman in PENNY DREADFUL directed by Damon Thomas for Showtime and more recently he played Garda Greene in RTÉ sit-com CAN’T COPE, WON’T COPE created by Stefanie Preissner for Deadpan Pictures.

Theatre credits include William in Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL directed by Deborah Warner at the Barbican Centre, London. Other stage appearances include, his Gate Theatre debut in SPECKLED PEOPLE (Dublin Theatre Festival 2011) and A WOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE both directed by Patrick Mason, JULIUS CAESAR and ROMEO & JULIET directed by Jason Byrne at the Abbey Theatre, JANE EYRE (City Theatre) and Helene Hanffs’ 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD directed by Terry Byrne at Andrews Lane.

Jonathan also appeared as Colonel Fitzwilliam in PRIDE & PREJUDICE directed by Alan Stanford at the Gate Theatre. Revived for a second run at The Gate and subsequently invited to perform at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, as part of the 43rd Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2015.
