Frank Mackey

Frank appears annually as The Dame in Panto at Cork Opera House. He was mostly recently seen as Nanny Nellie in sell-out performances of ALADDIN directed by Trevor Ryan.

Abbey theatre credits include AN IDEAL HUSBAND, SIVE, THE SILVER TASSIE and THE REAL McCOY.

Further theatre work includes Sir Bushy in RICHARD II directed by Michael Barker-Caven for Ouroboros, GLORY BE TO THE FATHER (Red Kettle) and THE SPIRIT OF ANNIE ROSS with Druid, Jonathan Miller’s production of AS YOU LIKE IT at the Gate theatre and the role of Seamar in Pat Kinevane’s THE PLAINS OF ENNA directed by Jim Culleton as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival.

Previous stage appearances include PHILADELPHIA HERE I COME, OKLAHOMA, and SOUTH PACIFIC all for Cork Opera House, PRIVATE DICK (Druid), MACBETH (Tivoli), BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE and CONVERSATIONS ON A HOME COMING (Everyman Palace), SEASON OF SHORT PLAYS (Fishamble), THE YOKOHAMA DELEGATION (Performance Corporation), Bertolt Brecht’s THE JEWISH WIFE, THE WIZARD OF OZ (Olympia), CANTERBURY TALES, BACK TO THE FUTURE and CINDERELLA at the New Vic Theatre, London. He played Liam Scuab in John B. Keane’s SIVE directed by Ben Barnes and also appeared in MOLL, BORSTAL BOY (dir. Joe Dowling), SINBAD, ALADDIN, CINDERELLA and four seasons of pantomime at the Gaiety Theatre.
