Maria Tecce

Maria is an Italian-American singer, actress and composer. She plays “Red-Headed Nuala” in hilarious live comedy trio THE NUALAS, touring shows nationwide to critical acclaim.

In theatre, she worked with Cork-based Corcadorca Theatre Company in their highly acclaimed sell-out production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. She played Emilie in Christopher Hampton’s LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES directed by Michael Barker-Caven at the Gate Theatre. Other credits include jazz cabaret show playing VIRGINIA DIVINEJAZZ HOTALL ABOUT LOVE and LUSH LIFE at the Spiegeltent venue, as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival 2002, THE COUNTRY BOY (Big Telly) and ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS (The Helix). She starred in Cabaret shows TORCH SONG and NIGHT & THE CITY and RED, HOTand TECCE. Maria also co-starred as Lee in the European premiere of the Canadian play VERY HEAVEN by Ann Lambert running in the Stalislavsky-based Focus Theatre in Dublin.  She toured with Storytellers Theatre Company’s critically acclaimed and award-nominated DREAM OF A SUMMER’S DAY and appeared in Theatre Royal’s new production of the German one-woman cabaret show TONIGHT: LOLA BLAU.

In television, she recently played Donna Welty in RTE’s contemporary six-part thriller ACCEPTABLE RISK directed by Kenneth Glenaan for Saffron Pictures.

Further screen work includes Camille Barnett in FAIR CITY, IN AMERICA directed by Jim Sheridan, the role of Isabella alongside British star Martin Shaw in BBC period drama INSPECTOR GENTLY, Cabaret Singer Jane Grey in ITV series ROCK RIVALS directed by Sydney McCartney, SPEED DATING (2000AD Productions), THE HONEYMOONERS directed by John Shultz (Fox/MGM) and Leading Lady in short film I HATE MUSICAL’S – THE MUSICAL directed by Michael Lavelle for Tilted Pictures. Maria also appeared alongside Nicolette Sheridan (Desperate House Wives) in Hallmark’s rom-com TV movie HONEYMOON FOR ONE.
