Katie Kirby

Katie was born in Dublin and spent her youth in New York. She graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2004 and since then has been a regular at the Gate Theatre as well as numerous theatre, television and film roles.

Theatre credits include playing the title role in LADY WINERMERE’S FAN and leading roles in PRIVATE LIVES, GREAT EXPECTATIONS and THE GLASS MENAGERIE, all at the Gate Theatre. She appeared as Mary in THE SEAGULL by Henrik Ibsen, directed by Max Stafford-Clark at Culture Project, New York and played Marjorie in William Mastrosimone’s EXTREMITIES at the Mill Theatre in Dundrum.

Katie’s film credits include the award winning short film JELLYBABY (Manifesto Films), WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR HELEN? (Dearg Films), THE HOTEL TRADE (Princess Pictures), POETIC LICENCE (Great Western Films), BOY EATS GIRL directed by Stephen Bradley (Element Films) and Marina De Van’s horror feature film DARK TOUCH (Element Pictures).

Katie’s television credits include appearing in two of Ireland’s most popular dramas, THE CLINIC (Parallel Films) and RAW Series 1 playing the part of Anna (Octagon Films)

Katie participated in the first workshop and reading of Rachel Wagstaff’s new play BEAUTIFUL.

More recently, she appeared as Bunty Mainwaring in Noël Coward’s youthful drama THE VORTEX directed by Annabelle Comyn at the Gate Theatre.
