Joanne King

Joanne recently appeared in a guest lead role as Ada O’Melia in RTÉ courtroom drama STRIKING OUT created by Rob Heyland and James Phelan, and directed by Lisa James-Larsson for Blinder Films.

In television, she appeared in a recurring role as Lady Rochford in hit US television drama THE TUDORS  starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers for Showtime. Other screen roles include Nancy in MASSIVE for BBC opposite comedian Jonny Vegas and Brandi in SHAMELESS (Channel 4). She was also seen in TRIAL AND RETRIBUTION directed by Gillies McKinnon (ITV), THE OMID JHALILI SHOW (BBC), THE EXILE FILES (TG4) and FAIR CITY (RTÉ). Perhaps most notably is her portrayal of angsty series regular Cynthia’Cyd’ Pike in CASUALTY for the BBC, appearing in 42 episodes.

Previous theatre credits include WHAT THE DEAD WANT and ELYSIAN JUNIORS directed by Jimmy Fay (Project), THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD with Yew Tree Theatre Company, CAROLLING CORCORANS at The Ark, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (Pavilion) and Ophelia in HAMLET at Cork Opera House. Film includes the title role of ‘Girl’ in award-winning short film THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF KEVIN KIND (Fastnet Films) and BOY EATS GIRL directed by Stephen Bradley (Element Films). Joanne appeared as Caryl in PERSONAL ENEMY – WORLD PREMIER of JOHN OSBORNE AND ANTHONY CREIGHTON’S LOST PLAY at the White Bear Theatre in Kennington. The production also performed at 59E59 Theaters, New York; as part of the ‘Brits Off Broadway’.

For her voice-over work, Joanne can heard as character Moutemouia in video game THE SECRET WORLD (EA) and she also voiced DRAGON AGE: IQUISITION for Biowire.

More recently, she appeared as Sande in ANGEL OF DECAY written and directed by Jamie Crawford for October Films.
